Valentin (Val) Trujillo

November 20, 1940 — March 2, 2021

Valentin Marcello Trujillo (Val)

Valentin Marcello Trujillo (Val) was a treasured father, grandfather, and friend. He passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 2nd 2021.  He will always be remembered as a kind, gentle man, always willing to help others.   Val was born November 20th 1940 in Ensenada New Mexico.  He moved to Layton, Utah the same year he was born.

He was soft spoken and ambitious.  He went for walks every day without fail, to stay fit.  He loved to fish and restoring old cars.  He belonged to a car club and enjoyed going to coffee with his great friends of many years.

A Catholic from birth, rarely missing mass.  He was an Usher and was very proud to belong to the Knights of Columbus Catholic Fraternal Order.

He is preceded in death by his parents Sergio and Feliz Trujillo, sisters: Bennie Valdez, Molly Tabarez, Celia Greigo, Lillie Trujillo, and brothers Louie Trujillo, Joe Trujillo, and Vince Trujillo.

Val is survived by his son Matthew Trujillo, daughter Lisa Hernandez, his step-kids Jenny (Jeff) Moody, Brenda (Steve) Spackman, and Benny Martinez.  He is also survived by his sisters Mary Martinez, Clara Meekins, Juanita Zitting, Julie Hoke, and Phyliss Kley, brothers, Walter Trujillo, and David Trujillo.

It was important to Val to take time each week to visit his kids, sisters, brothers, and friends.  He would purely visit or work, helping with any project that needed to be done.  He cared about others over himself and wanted his loved ones to take care of each other and be good to one another.
