Our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, VaLoy Bingham Scott, 80, peacefully passed away on August 20, 2016 at home in Riverdale, Utah surrounded by family. VaLoy was born on January 25, 1936 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Carl Wilford and Irma Burns Bingham.
VaLoy served in many church callings over the years in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. VaLoy loved her Heavenly Father and her Savior. She had a strong testimony of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ and her faith sustained her and never wavered.
Family was the most important thing in the world to VaLoy. She loved her family, was ever encouraging, and always was supportive. Everyone enjoyed her happy nature, engaging smile, generous hugs, and her contagious laugh. Her wonderful demeanor had a great impact on family and friends throughout her life.
VaLoy is survived by her former spouse, Rulon Scott; all four of her children, Michael Keith (Cindy) Hill, Greg Alan Hill, Richard Bingham Scott (Nicole Sexson Montoya), and Ryan (Lyndsi) Scott; 39 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and sisters, Carolyn (Gary) Brown, Marie (Larry) Gray, and Nancy (Jimmy) Glauser. She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Keith Hill and brother, Richard Bingham.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 26, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
