Veda Jean Wehner
OGDEN – Veda Jean Wehner, 75, passed away Monday, August 29, 2011 at her home while in the company of her family.
Jean was born January 16, 1936 at home in Rexburg, ID to Emma Elizabeth and Hyrum Albert Brower. She married Edward T Wehner on April 21, 1956 in Evanston, Wyoming. She was 20 years old.
Jean graduated from Ben Lomond High School in Ogden, UT with the first graduating class in 1954.
Jean retired as a civilian from Hill Air Force Base.
Jean was a member of the LDS church and Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. Knitting blankets and outfits for her grandchildren were always an ongoing activity with Jean. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Jean has always been a positive and motivating person. Snapping photographs and scrapbooking the memories of her family had always been a favorite activity of Jeans. Her photography enthusiasm helped her with the detailed yearly calendars she made for the family; she loved putting these together. Summer drives up Ogden Canyon and target practice with Jamie, Nancy, and Eddie were a family tradition.
Jean is survived by her son Jamie Edward (Dolores) Wehner, Syracuse; daughter Nancy J. (Steve) Robbins, Riverdale; sister, Neta Smith, Sunset; brother Albert J. (Bonnie) Brower, Ogden; three grandsons Christopher Robbins, Joshua (Kyrie) and Hyrum Wehner; three granddaughters, Elizabeth (Curtis) Trott, Laura (Danny) Varnadore, and Catherine Robbins; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Emma E. and Hyrum A. Brower, her husband, Edward T. Wehner, her sister, Effie R. Hobbs, and her brother, Rondald D. Brower.
Funeral services will be held in Jean’s honor Saturday, September 3, 2011 at 1 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit family on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday, from 11:45 to 12:45 p.m. at the mortuary.
Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
