Velda Eyre Hatch
Our beloved mother, 100 plus, passed away in Logan, Utah, surrounded by her loved ones on February 28, 2009.
Mom was born October 3, 1908 in Lyman, Wyoming to Joseph and Mary Eyre. The youngest of ten children, she graduated from Granite High School in Murray, Utah. Mom was loving, patient, enduring and a considerate daughter of her Heavenly Father. She married our father, Theris Barlow Hatch on March 6, 1929 in Salt Lake City and they were sealed for time and eternity in the Los Angeles Temple on June 25, 1971.
Mother’s most important person, to whom she was completely devoted to from the first time they dated, was her husband, Theris. She was impressed by his good looks, singing voice, and how she felt when they danced together. She always made an effort to be with him where ever he went – even fishing. (She didn’t actually fish, and yet always enjoyed being there with him).
Mom always made it easy to be around her; her optimism, kind manner and affection for her children and grandchildren brought great comfort and warmth to all.
Survived by her children; Kay Neil, (AZ); Theris Daryl, (St. George, UT); Donald Terry, (CA); John Stanton, (Alpine, UT); Patty Bevilacqua, (Logan, UT); 20 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren and 13 great, great grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband and eldest daughter Dixie Rae.
Funeral services will be held Friday, March 6, 2009 at 2:00 pm at Lindquist’s Bountiful Mortuary, 727 N. 400 E. where friends may call from 12:45 – 1:45 pm prior to services. Interment Bountiful City Cemetery.
