Velma Burkhart

Velma Burkhart OGDEN – Velma Burkhart, 92, died Saturday, April 11, 2009 at Washington Terrace Health Services of causes incident to age. She was born July 21, 1916 in Washburn, Missouri, a daughter of Edley and Emma Ford Weathers. On April 14, 1938, Velma married Carl J. Burkhart in Bentonville, Arkansas. Carl preceded her in death on October 8, 1979. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church. Velma enjoyed going on picnics and in her later years she liked to travel. Surviving are one son and three daughters, Jimmie Burkhart, Salt Lake City; Mary (Grant) Johnson, Ogden; Joan Berg, Roy; Sharon Hislop, Ogden; 10 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving is one brother, Ray Weathers. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl, one sister and three brothers. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may call at the mortuary on Thursday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. Interment, Ogden City Cemetery.
