Velma Liddell Droubay passed from this earth on Sunday, February 14, 2010 at the Heritage Care Center in Roy, Utah. Velma was born July 23, 1929 in Erda, Utah where her family owned a farm. A daughter of Blanche Benson and Laurence Liddell she attended school in the Tooele area graduating from Tooele High in 1948. She later moved to Ogden to attend Weber College. Velma lived in the Bertha Eccles Hall as her dormitory, and graduated with an Associate''s of Science Degree in Geology. She studied with "Weber College on Wheels" in Mexico, and later returned to Mexico City to serve an LDS mission from 1950-1952. Velma additionally served in the Grantsville Stake as a stake missionary. Velma worked at the Tooele Ordinance Depot as a translator and secretary. Velma served for many years in the LDS primary and scouting. She enjoyed working as an election judge in many elections and enjoyed music and reading. In her younger years she loved sewing and crocheting. Velma met Dale at Tooele High School where they graduated in 1948, they did not formally date until after she returned from her mission to Mexico when he attended one of her sacrament meeting talks. Dale and Velma married March 18, 1953 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She kept Spanish as a second language her entire life, and was the star student in their Spanish class when she returned to South America in 1992. Dale and Velma served honorably in the Mendoza Argentina Mission, upon their return they served faithfully together for three years as ordinance workers in the Ogden Temple. Before her illness she loved traveling and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Velma and Dale have ten grandchildren and nine great-grand children. Her four children and their spouses are, Jeffray and Nina Droubay, Nina and Gordon Doxey, Michael Droubay and Michael Kawalek, and Gary and Michele Droubay. Also surviving is a brother Joseph T. Liddell, and sister-in-law Fern Liddell. The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks for the dedicated efforts of the staff of Heritage Park Care Center, Alzhemier''s unit on Velma''s behalf.

Funeral services will be held Friday, February 19th at 11:00 a.m. at the Clearfield 10th Ward Chapel, 300 North Vine Street.

Friends and family may call Friday from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. at the church house.

Interment, Clearfield City Cemetery.
