Vera Allen Morris Barnes

Vera Allen Morris Barnes, 94, passed away on Tuesday, March 3, 2015.  She was born on July 25, 1920 in Ada, Oklahoma, the daughter of Willie and Ethel Mae Poston Morris.

She married Edgar DeMars Barnes on September 4, 1941 in New Orleans, LA.  Edgar passed away on December 12, 2008.

Vera was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Boise, ID and St. James the Just in Ogden, UT.

She was also a member of the County Extension Club, Boise Little Theater, and Alter Society. She was a member of Rainbow Girl and Eastern Star.

She was a professional seamstress and played bridge her whole life.

Vera is survived by her son, Thomas Allen Barnes, Boise, ID; daughter, Denebola “Debi” June Barnes (Thomas) Mumpower, North Ogden; four grandchildren, Jacob Barnes, Teara (Andy) Galbraith, John Edgar Robinson, and Carlee Jo Robinson; five great-grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, and two step-great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie, and Ethel; husband, Edgar; brothers, Kenneth and Harold.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 9, 2015 at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 2612 West State St., Boise, ID.  A vigil will be held on Sunday at 6 p.m. at the Alden-Waggoner Funeral Home, 5400 West Fairview Ave., Boise, ID.  Interment, Dry Creek Cemetery in Boise, Idaho.  Services entrusted to Lindquist’s Ogden Utah Mortuary.
