Vera Cole Liston
Together Again
KAYSVILLE – Vera Cole Liston, 96, passed away Saturday, February 20, 2010 at Rocky Mountain Care. She was the daughter of Cornelius and Matilda Cole and married E. Lee Liston in Spearfish, SD in 1934. He preceded her in death in 1987.
Vera and Lee lived many years in Kaysville and were long-time owners of the Kaysville Theatre. Vera was an enthusiastic fan of Davis High and University of Utah athletics. She loved gardening and with her husband had a thriving wholesale peony business. She was active in the Art Club, the Lantern Club and the Bay View Club. Vera and Lee traveled the country in their RV, showing their prize-winning Appaloosa horses.
Survived by her sons Jerry L. Liston and Paul F. Liston, daughter Nita L. Thomassen, sister Jean Evans, 13 grandchildren, 32 great-granchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents, her husband Lee, and brothers Floyd Cole and Robert Cole.
Funeral services will be held Friday, February 26, 2010 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist’s Kaysville Mortuary, 400 N. Main. Friends and family may gather Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m. at the mortuary.
Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery.
