Bountiful – Vera Elizabeth Chadwick Smith, 99 years of age, passed away June 26, 2008. She was the seventh of eight children born to William Chadwick and Jane Woodfield of Liberty, Utah. Vera married Daniel Max Smith and they are the parents of two children. Vera was a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, serving in many capacities. Vera taught school at Tolman Elementary, and was the librarian at Viewmont High and Bountiful Junior High Schools. She leaves a legacy of service and good deeds to all who knew and loved her. In her later years she provided hundreds of quilts to the needy and even more “Love Bears” which went to children all over the world.
Vera is preceded in death by her husband, Max, and all of her seven brothers and sisters. She is survived by a son, Chad (Karla) and a daughter Candace, granddaughters, Angelia (Michael) Polson, Kristie (Clint) Hutchings, Stacie (Mark) London, and 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services Monday, June 30, 2008, 11 am, at the Bountiful 24th Ward Chapel, 720 East 550 North. Friends may call Sunday evening, June 29, 2008 from 6-8 pm at Lindquist’s Bountiful Mortuary, 727 North 400 East, and Monday from 10 to 10:45 am at the church prior to the services. Interment North Ogden Cemetery.
