Verl F. Bosworth
ROY – Verl Fredrick Bosworth, 88, passed away Tuesday, July 24, 2007 at his home in Roy.
He was born June 4, 1919 in Idaho Falls, Idaho, a son of Charles Fredrick and Sarah Elizabeth Jenkins Bosworth.
On June 27, 1947, Verl married Alta Jane Bolton in Elko, Nevada. Their marriage was solemnized February 19, 1965 in the Logan LDS Temple. Alta preceded Verl in death on March 24, 2004.
He was raised in Preston, Idaho moving to the Ogden area in 1942.
He was an aircraft mechanic and foreman at Hill Air Force Base retiring after 34 years of service. After he retired, Verl and Alta spent winters in Quartzsite, Arizona for almost 30 years.
Verl enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening. He was a history buff and loved to tell stories of his family’s experiences. Verl loved to travel and recently realized his lifelong dreams of traveling to Bosworth Field in England, fishing in Alaska, and cruising in Hawaii.
Surviving are his children, Maxine Baumgartner, C. Lee Barrett, Brent (Margaret) Bosworth, Susan Verhoef, Debra (Mike) Venable, and Richard (Sherri) Bosworth; 22 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.
Also surviving is one sister, Ella Davidson.
Verl was preceded in death by his wife, children, Duane, Jerry, and an infant daughter, son-in-law, Nick Baumgartner, his parents, and three sisters.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
Friends may call at the mortuary on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday 9:45 to 10:45 a.m.
Interment, Preston, Idaho City Cemetery.
