Verla L. Bramble August 15, 1920 - January 28, 2013 Verla was born on August 15, 1920 in Minden, Nebraska to Arthur Oline and Sadie Marie (Jensen) Oline. She grew up in this small, farming community and graduated from Minden High School in 1937. After graduating at the top of her class from Nebraska College of Commerce in Hastings, she began her civil service career in Washington, D.C., in 1941. After George was drafted in September of 1942, Verla worked buying land for the Naval Ammunition Depot and would later follow her husband to Denver where the two welcomed the birth of their first child, Robert Allan Bramble. After George was discharged, the family returned to Hastings where their second child, William Lee Bramble was born. In Mead, Nebraska, Verla worked for General Electric and the missile support division. In 1962 Verla and her family moved to Ogden, Utah, where she completed 20 years of civil service at Hill Air Force Base. After retiring in 1980, Verla was a volunteer for St. Benedict’s Hospital and the Ogden Regional Hospital, spending countless hours giving secondhand objects new life at the hospital’s Encore Shop. She was a faithful member of the Community United Methodist Church where she and George treasured the congregation as a second family. She was also a member of the Miriam #14, Lybia Temple #32, Daughters of the Nile, Chapter AA, P.EO. and St. Benedicts Auxillary. Verla has left behind her faithful husband, George, along with her two sons, Bob and his wife Carla of Tacoma, Washington, and Bill and his wife Paula of Vancouver, Washington. Five grandchildren: Darby Bramble(Zach Zipfel), Heather Austin (Mike Austin), Adam Bramble, Morgan Bramble and Kristin Bramble and four great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank the faithful neighbors, friends, church members, hospice and staff at Mt. Ogden Rehabilitation who supported and comforted Verla during the last months of her life.
