Verle Lyman Buhler

FARMINGTON a€" Our loving husband, father, grandfather and brother passed away peacefully on Sunday December 19, 2010 at his home of 53 years in Farmington surrounded by his family after a 2 year battle with cancer. Born August 18, 1932 in Kaysville, Utah to Wilma Witt and Walter Buhler.

Grew up in Kaysville, Utah and graduated from Davis High School in 1950. Played football for Davis High and Weber College where he also graduated. Joined the U.S. Air Force in 1952 and spent four years in the service of his country. Married his high school sweetheart Joyce Hess on December 26, 1952 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Worked at Hill Air Force Base for 32 years retiring at the healthy age of 55. Served as president of the Farmington Lions Club. Together with his wife they served an LDS service mission in Hawaii and traveled with their friends to many places throughout North America. Verle loved gardening and sharing his harvest with many neighbors and friends. He also had his backyard woodshop where he loved to build many things for friends. One of his loves was spending time at his cabins at Bear Lake and in the mountains of Summit County. He loved to hunt, camp, and ride motorcycles with his family and friends and to be outdoors. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, children Curt (Cyndi), Valerie Wintle (Les), Brent (Karen), and Jeffrey (Julie), 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, brothers Russell, Glenn and sister Norma Nelson. Preceded in death by his parents, brother Doyle, sister Doris Hensler, and one grandson Kyle.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 23, 2010 at 11 a.m. at the Farmington Rock Chapel, 272 No. Main. Friends may visit family on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Kaysville Mortuary, 400 North Main and Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the chapel. Interment, Farmington City Cemetery.
