Vern W. Vern was born June 28, 1927 to John Henry and Flossie Farr Bingham. He was raised by his father and stepmother, John and Flora McBride Bingham. He was the fourth child having an older sister, Kathleen Callahan, and two older brothers, Jack Jr. and Melvin, all of whom preceded him in death. He married Delores Evans on October 4, 1948. They were blessed with two beautiful daughters, Katherine Ann and Vickie Lynne. Vickie passed away at the tender age of one and a half years old. Delores preceded him in death on January 4, 2002. Vern was proud to be an American and proudly served with the U.S. Navy, the Air Force, and the Air Force Reserves. He retired from Hill Air Force Base in 1981. Vern served as a volunteer at the Washington Terrace Senior Center for over 25 years and enjoyed his many friendships there. Vern enjoyed oil painting, ceramics, porcelain and leatherwork.
