Verna Lee Behunin Cook, beloved wife, mother and daughter, 73, passed away Friday, July 6, 2007 at McKay a€"Dee Hospital.

She was born October 22, 1933 in Altonah, Utah to Eldon and Dezella Minchey Behunin. She was raised and educated in Duchesne County.

Verna was married to Theodore Pratt and they were later divorced. She married Arnold Barker and he preceded her in death in 1964. She married Kenneth Cook and he was a loving, dedicated and devoted husband for 40 A½ years.

Verna was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

She was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. She served as president of TOPS (taking off pounds sensibly).

Verna was an avid bowler for 20 years until her health slowed her down. She loved to crochet. Along with her mother, she collected used dolls, cleaned them up and would crochet clothing for them before donating them to the Salvation Army at Christmas for Toys for Tots.

She is loved and cherished by her family and friends. She will be greatly missed.

Verna is survived by her husband, Kenneth; four sons, Ted (Rita) Pratt, Fremont, NE; A. John (Stephanie) Barker, Ogden; Jerry (Susan) Barker, Ogden; Jack Anderson, Ogden; two daughters, Terrylee (Don) Schmitt, Las Vegas, NV; Cindy (Darrell) Dabb, West Haven; 16 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; her mother, Dezella Carroll, Ogden; a brother, Joe (Marilyn) Behunin, Sandy; and four sisters, Jackie (James) Gailey, Sunset; Terry (Rocky) Burton, Denver, CO; Jean (Hank) Kay, South Ogden; and Della (Dave) Coombs, Plain City.

She was preceded in death by her father, Eldon Behunin, a brother, Dean Behunin, two sisters, Roseanne Bell, Georgia House, and step-fathers, Charles Wilde and Peter Carroll.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 11th at 11 a.m. at the South Ogden 3rd Ward Chapel, 4075 Orchard Avenue.

Friends and family may call Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. and Wednesday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m., at the church.

Interment, Lindquist''s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road.
