Verna Louise LeFevre Mead

Verna Louise LeFevre Mead, 87, passed away on Monday, August 13, 2018. She was born on November 5, 1930 near Vineland, in Pueblo County, CO.
She married David Crockett Mead on April 10, 1948 in Pueblo, CO. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Verna graduated from Southern Colorado State College with a degree in Elementary Education and Art in 1969. She taught at Rye Elementary School for twelve years. She moved with her family to Superior, Wyoming in 1979 and taught at an elementary school there for thirteen years before retiring in 1994. It was during this time that she received her master’s Degree from the University of Utah. She loved to teach, and it was very important to her to be able to help all children learn no matter what disabilities they might have.
Verna is survived by her children, Jessie (Larry) Turner, Abby (Albert) Gooch, Timothy (Cheri) Mead, Darryl W. Mead, Sr., and James (Merilee) Mead; daughter-in-law, Barbara Mead; and numerous posterity. She was preceded in death by her husband, David; son, Henry; parents, James Edward Jr. and Georgia May Maxwell LeFevre; and sisters, Helen Grace and Ina Ruth.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 23, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary. Entombment, Saturday, August 25, 2018 at 10 a.m. at the Imperial Memorial Gardens, Pueblo, CO.
