Verna Loa Garlick Poll Tucker our beloved mother passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, May 11, 2013.

She was born on July 29, 1926 to Chester and Lila Brown Garlick. She married Delbert Poll in 1942 they were blessed with seven children. He died in 1974. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. In 1978 she married Frank Tucker, he later passed away.

Our mother was very involved with the student exchange program and hosted several students. She worked for the IRS and retired as a Prudential Insurance Agent.

Our mother had a very special musical talent. She was her ward organist for several years and loved to entertain family and friends with her musical abilities.

She is survived by her children, Pam (Jack) Posell, Michael (Robyn) Poll, Susan Goodson, Chester Poll, Jonathan (Lana) Poll, 30 grandchildren, 59 great-grandchildren, 11 great-great-grandchildren, one great-great-great-granddaughter, brother Owen Garlick and sister LuDean Rodgers.

Preceded in death by two sons, David and Terry Poll, one granddaughter, two great-grandchildren, one brother and two sisters.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 18, 2013 at 12 noon at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road. Friends may visit family Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the mortuary.

Interment, Lindquist''s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.

The last two years of her life she lived at Legacy Village Assisted Living. She was loved by many and we would like to thank the staff for the loving care they provided for our mother.
