1952-2015

“Among the angels”

Vicki Lyn Andersen Eccel peacefully passed away at home in the early hours of November 30, 2015 in Salt Lake City.  She was born October 4, 1952, the only child and adored by J. Richard and Norma Nielsen Andersen.  She graduated from Skyline High School and received her BA degree in Theater Arts from University of Utah.  Her love of the movies and theater brought her in contact with Robert Allen (Bob) Eccel during their many performances in Theater 138.   They fell in love and were married in Jackson Hole, WY in 1980.   Bob and Vicki are the proud parents of Kate Eccel Park and Chris Eccel.

Vicki earned her M.Ed. while teaching school at Newman Elementary School. She taught for 30 years, touching and blessing the lives of thousands of children with her warmth and humor.  She loved old movies, music, theater, her pets, her garden, the family cabin in the mountains, but most of all, her two beautiful granddaughters, Elise and Josephine Park. Her children will miss sharing their worlds with her through long conversations over hot coffee.  Elise and Josephine will miss their favorite playmate and craft buddy.  Her passion for her family was the driving force as she overcame many of life’s hardest challenges.

Vicki always felt the presence of angels in her life.  As she joins them, we, her family and friends, will mourn and miss the angel in our lives, Vicki Lynn Eccel.

Vicki is survived by her husband, Robert A. Eccel; daughter, Kathryn Eccel (Richard) Park; son, Chris Eccel; granddaughters, Elise Park and Josephine Park  and her cousins and friends.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 5th at Lindquist’s Bountiful Mortuary, 727 N. 400 E. Bountiful, UT.  Friends may visit from 10-11:00 a.m. prior to the service.
