Vickie Humphreys

Vickie Humphreys, 54, passed away peacefully with her family at her side, Saturday, December 11, 2010.

Our wife, mother, sister, friend and favorite Nurse, was born in Dragerton, Utah on October 20, 1956 to Glenn and Shirley Brady. She was raised in Price, Utah, graduated from Carbon High in 1974, College of Eastern Utah Nursing in 1977, and Weber State University in 1989. She was a delivery, bedside, geriatric and instructor in nursing over her many years of practice.

Vickie was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Vickie married her eternal sweetheart, Terry Humphreys on May 5, 1984 and was sealed in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple on July 23, 1993.

She was loved and cherished by her family, friends and students. She received the Community Nursing Award from Ogden, Weber Area Technical College for her work with the LPN students in the clinical setting. Miss Vickie was everybody''s favorite nurse. She delivered newborns in excitement and wiped the brows of the elderly as she cared for them as their lives ended. One of her most exciting times was when her student''s faces lit up after everything she was teaching came to pass and finally made sense to them. The only thing that mattered more to her than nursing was her husband, Terry and their children, Sarah, Daniel and Matthew.

Vickie is survived by her husband, Terry; daughter, Sarah (Pat), son, Daniel; her parents, Glenn and Shirley Brady , of Price; brothers, Ben (Lori), of Elmo, UT; Tim (Anita), Kim, Alvin, all of Price, UT; sister, Shelly (Al) Garcia, of Las Vegas, NV; her in-laws, Wallace (Billie) Humphreys, St. George, UT; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a son, Matthew, a brother Ricky Glen Brady, grandfather, Alma Christensen, and mother-in-law, Helen Sarah Humphreys.

The family extends their gratitude to all medical personnel and Dr. Vincent Hansen, including his staff at the McKay-Dee Huntsman Cancer Institute for their love and patience during Vicki''s illness. Every end is a beginning, you can shed tears because she is gone and you smile because she has lived. May she rest in peace.

A viewing will be held on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 18th at 9:30 a.m. at the Midland Farms Ward Chapel, 3845 South 2000 West, Roy, Utah with a viewing one hour prior from 8 to 9:15 a.m.
