Vincent L. Carley was born to Louis and Louisa Povse Carley on January 10, 1925 in Diamondville, Wyoming. He passed away on Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at the age of 88. He was a longtime resident of Roy and spent many winters in Mesa, Arizona.
He served in the US Navy aboard a destroyer in the Pacific during WWII and won two Presidential Citations and a Unit Silver Star.
Vince married his sweetheart, Betty Joy Earl, on April 22, 1946 in Ogden, Utah. She passed away on February 21, 2005 after spending 58 wonderful years together.
He was employed by the Southern Pacific Railroad in the mechanical department for nearly 46 years. Vince also owned and operated Carley Floor Coverings.
Vince enjoyed his yard and gardening. He loved competing nationally with his wife in ballroom dancing where they won many trophies.
He was a member of the Roy Lions Club, VFW, and the Elk''s Lodge.
Vince is survived by his daughter, Kathy L. Wilson; five granddaughters, Shay Lynn Curtis, Kori LeMelle, Kristen Riddle, Marci Weyant, and Raynee Wilson; two great-grandsons, Keegan Childs and Jesse Jett Lemelle; one sister, Sylvia Kalan and one brother, James Carley.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty and his parents.
Private services will be held.
Funeral arrangements entrusted to Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary.
