Viola Layton Call
LAYTON – Viola Layton Call, 80, passed away Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at her home.
She was born January 2, 1934 in Bountiful, Utah the daughter of James Irvine and Esther Stella Clay Layton.
Viola married her eternal sweetheart Milton “Dean” Call on March 19, 1953 in the Salt Lake Temple.
She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in many callings some of which were music and roadshows which she did often. Mom had a great love of the Gospel and the youth. Her home was always open to the youth and young adults.
Our mom was a “True Farmer’s Wife” in every aspect of farm life by living, serving and loving. While caring for and feeding a family of four, the hired help and anyone else who stopped by her home. Afterwards she could be found driving truck/tractor, working or doctoring cattle, making wedding cakes, church work, homework with kids, canning and teaching everyone as she went by love, word or deed.
Viola’s legacy is her family great testimony, faith, love of music, happiness and hard work.
Surviving are her children, LuAnn (Dale) Fronk, DeVi (Richard) Evertsen, William D. (Shauna) Call, Susan (Calvin) Adams, sister, Rachael Noyes, brothers-in-law, Robert Call, Dennis Wilson, 12 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and two on the way.
Preceded in death by her husband, M. Dean Call, parents and brother, Irvin (Bud) J. Layton.
Funeral services will be held Monday, November 10, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the Layton Sandsprings Ward, 3161 W. 150 N., Layton. Friends may visit family Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road and Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.
Interment, Syracuse City Cemetery.
