Viola M. Child

Viola Marie Child OGDEN – Viola Marie Miera Child, 73, died Sunday, August 17, 2008 at her home in Ogden. She was born March 2, 1935 in Dulce, New Mexico, a daughter of Candito and Eafemia Maria Valdez Miera. She moved to Utah as a young adult. Viola married Warren Child in Elko, Nevada. Warren preceded her in death. She worked as a nursing assistant at St. Benedict’s Hospital. Viola loved gardening, the outdoors, camping and walking. Surviving are two daughters, Maralyn Chase and Veronica Mize, both of Ogden; three granddaughters and three great-grandchildren. Also surviving are one brother and one sister, Orlando Miera, and Cruz Johnson, both of Durango, CO; and many nieces and nephews. Preceding Viola in death were her parents, her husband Warren, son, Manuel Garcia, one sister and two brothers. Memorial services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s North Ogden Mortuary, 2140 North Washington Blvd. Cremation under the direction of Lindquist’s Crematory.
