Vira Hiibner Stuart passed away on August 19, 2013 at Deseret Health. Vira was born on February 17, 1916 in Mendon, Utah. She was the daughter of George and Retta Copen Hiibner.
She married Calvin Mumford Stuart on January 19, 1947 in Spokane, Washington.
Vira was a lifetime member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in many positions, ward librarian, Primary, Relief Society, and visiting teacher.
She attended school in Mendon and graduated from South Cache High and LDS Seminary in Hyrum, Cosmetology school at the University of California a" extension San Francisco, and Business school in Washington DC.
Vira was at her happiest when working in her rose garden. She also enjoyed reading and crafts and keeping in touch with lifelong friends.
She loved her family; they were her life, especially Lucinda, her only child.
Vira is survived by her daughter, Lucinda S. Corbin, Ogden; son, Clark (Wanda) Stuart, Nampa, Idaho; brother, Glenn (Ivaloo) Hiibner, Mendon; and sister, Dorothy Leishman, Logan.
Preceded in death by her parents, husband, Calvin; son, Calvin E. Stuart; granddaughter, Shannon Lynn Corbin; and brothers, Calvin, Okey, and Wayne; and sisters, Odie, Luetta and Frona.
The family would like to thank IHC Hospice nurse Heidi, nurses Jean and Karen of Deseret Health, and all the staff for the love and care they gave Mom.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, August 23, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the Ogden City Cemetery. Friends may visit with family on Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
