CLEARFIELD a€" Virginia Faye Cummings, 88, passed away Monday, September 30, 2013 at her home.

She was born December 5, 1924 in Eureka, Utah the daughter of Charles and Virginia Martyn Bigler.

Faye married Russell A. Cummings in June 1955 in Reno, Nevada. He preceded her in death on September 24, 1986.

Faye started and operated Faye''s Laundry and Dry Cleaning in Layton in 1968. She was very proud of the career and success she had with Faye''s which is still operating today. She also worked on the assembly line at HAFB during WWII.

She was an active member of the Federal Women''s Club, Business and Professional Women''s Club and Lakeview Underground. Faye loved to travel and has seen much of the world. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them.

She valued education and encouraged her grandchildren to get degrees even helping financially with those endeavors. She also created and funded the Faye B. Cummings Trust at Weber State University which is designed to fund scholarships for single parents.

Surviving are her daughters, Sharon A. (Clifford) Dutcher, Vivian Peterson, step-daughter, Kathy Hagan, seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her husband, parents, two brothers, one sister and step-daughter Verlin Hoff.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, October 3, 2013 at 1 p.m. at the Midway, Utah Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.

The family would like to thank all of those who helped and aided her in her later years.
