Virginia Rose Day

OGDEN – Virginia S. Day passed away surrounded by her family on January 28, 2010 of natural causes. She was born May 27, 1927 in Broken Bow, Nebraska to Elmer Edward Schmid and Helen Loraine Moody. Virginia married Basil Eugene Staten and later divorced, and three children were born to them. She married Joseph F. Young and later divorced, two children were born to them. She married Clark E. Love, he died January 24, 1981. She later married Delbert B. Day and he died March 11, 1993. She spent her childhood in Idaho Falls, Idaho attending schools there. She moved to Utah in 1951, where she lived until her passing. She retired from HAFB after 25 years of service. Virginia loved gardening, camping, fishing, traveling, watching football and basketball. She was a big Utah Jazz fan. The true joy in her life, were her kids and grandkids. She is survived by her five children, Pat (Shane) Fisher, Larry (Kathy) Young, Vicki (Mike) Parkinson all of Ogden; Terrie (Var) Stephens, Morgan; Teresa (Jim) Jaques of Tremonton; Five step-children, Levi Love, Monty Love, Rhonda Love, and Liz Love all of Ogden and Mike Young of Louisiana. Also survived by two brothers, Lloyd (Marie) Schmid of South Carolina and Ronald (Carol) Schmid of Idaho. 18 grandchildren, 49 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. Preceding her in death are her parents, husbands and two grandsons, Jeremy Young and Cody Parkinson. Funeral services will be on Tuesday, February 2, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Family and friends may call Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday 12:45 to 1:45 p.m. Interment at Lindquist’s Memorial Garden of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road. The family would like to thank Hearts for Hospice, especially Marisa and Amber for their loving care of mom.
