Virginia East
YUMA, Arizona – Virginia East, 88, returned to her Heavenly Father and beloved husband of 66 years, Clyde East, on Friday, December 11, 2009 in Yuma, Arizona.
She was born in North Ogden, Utah on February 10, 1921 to Parley and Elizabeth Blodgett. She attended grade school in North Ogden and Weber High School.
Virginia was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She worked in retail sales. Her hobbies were square dancing, camping, oil painting, sewing and reading.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and Daughters of the Utah Pioneers.
Virginia is survived by her children, Connie (Michael) Costley, Yuma, AZ; Colleen Hughes, Ogden; Cathy (Terry) Jensen, Yuma, AZ; nine grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and siblings, Arthur Blodgett, Elva Barney, Bessie Swanke, and Pearl Lake; grandson, Stephen Durrant and great-grandson, Scott Costley.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 19 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
Friends may call at the mortuary on Saturday from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m.
Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
