Virginia Hepworth Gold 1918- 2012 Virginia Hepworth Gold, a lifelong resident of Bountiful, passed away on Friday, November 23, 2012 from causes related to age. She was 93 years old. On December 11, 1918, she joined her brother as the second child in the family of Jasper and Sarah Mabey Hepworth. She was raised on her parents'' farm in Bountiful. They provided her with all the opportunities they could, with their limited resources. She was the apple of her father''s eye and lived a delightful childhood. Her family consisted of her three brothers, and four cousins, who were lovingly welcomed into the Hepworth home when both of their parents died. She was educated in the Davis County Schools and graduated from both Davis High School and the University of Utah with a B.A. degree in art, and a secondary teaching certificate. She taught 4th grade at Stoker School during the 1940-41 school year and she probably out-lived the majority of her students. She married her sweetheart, Glenn S. Gold, on September 15, 1941, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She became a full time mother of four children. Virginia was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served in many callings. She was a Primary President, a Relief Society President, and taught in every organization. Glenn and Virginia loved spending time with each other and spent much of that time serving the Lord. They served three missions together. Those who knew Virginia marveled at her persistence in looking up and going forward. Virginia is survived by a cousin, Mildred (Joe) Madron, California, her children: Glenn (Janet) Gold, Bountiful, Karen (Art) Miller, Bountiful, Kathryn (Steven) Allen, Salt Lake City, Jasper Richard Gold, Bountiful, and Perla (Lee) Pyper, Farmington, along with 14 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her special friend, Betty Ross. She was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn, her parents, three brothers, and three cousins. The family would like to thank her Hospice nurse, Brenda Postel, along with Kenzlee, Triona, and Wes for their loving-care and support. Also, a huge thanks goes to the aides from Home Care Assistance, Miriam, Debbie, and Amber. We wouldn''t have made it without their help.
Virginia''s funeral will be held 11 am Thursday, November 29, 2012, at the Bountiful 16th Ward Chapel, 720 E. 550 N. Friends may visit family Wed. Nov. 28th from 6-8 pm at Lindquist''s Bountiful Mortuary, 727 N. 400 E. and Thurs. 10:00-10:45 am at the Church prior to the services. Virginia had a special place in her heart for the Perpetual Education program of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She would love it if a donation were made in her name.
