VIRGINIA LUE SHELLEY LUNDBERG

1944-2016

Virginia grew up in Mt. Pleasant, UT.  Daughter of Jess and Phoebe Shelley, she was the youngest of 6 children.  Mom loved growing up on the farm, and incorporated many “Sanpete Sayings” into her mothering style.  (You're like a frighty fart on a hot skillet!)

She met and married Stephen Lee Lundberg in 1967, in the Manti Temple. They settled in Bountiful, UT., and were blessed with 4 daughters.  Virginia and Steve lived, laughed, loved, and adored each other like the storybooks claim.  They traveled together, worked together, and together built a wonderful life with 4 daughters, 16 grandchildren, and 1 great granddaughter.
Virginia was a hard worker, she worked for Smiths Grocery for 30 years, and Yusef Manufacturing for 13 years. She loved to keep busy, and loved those she worked with.
Mom was generous beyond measure. Everyone was welcome in her home and was made to feel like one of her own.  Mom had a wonderful sense of humor, and even in her final days we were all laughing.   She served everywhere and everyone. Mom’s mantra was truly “Because I have been given much, I too must give”.

Mom is with Dad, a reunion that was long awaited. She is survived by her daughters, Ann Birdsall, Jennifer (Danny) Baxter, Shelley Francis, Holly (Ike) Morgan; her brothers Elwin Shelley and Claire Shelley; and many friends and neighbors.  She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Kim Buchanan and grandson, Jack.

Special thanks to Rocky Mountain Hospice, and the University of Utah Hospital for their care and guidance these last few weeks.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 12th at the Mueller Park 1st Ward  Chapel, 1825 S. 850 E. Bountiful, UT., where friends may visit with the family from 9:30-10:30am.   Interment at Bountiful City Cemetery.  Condolences may be shared at www.lindquistmortuary.com
