Virginia Gallegos Montoya

OGDEN a€" Our loving mother, grandmother, and aunt, Virginia Gallegos Montoya, surrounded by her family, left us to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 28, 2009.

She was born January 14, 1920 in Saguache, Colorado, to her parents, Amarante and Marina Martinez.

Virginia met her sweetheart, Fred C. Gallegos, and they were married on June 21, 1939. In 1945 they moved to Ogden, Utah. Fred passed away on February of 1962. Virginia was left to raise her children and was employed at St. Benedict''s Hospital in the housekeeping department for many years.

In August of 1986, she married Manuel Montoya. They loved Mexican music and dancing and were known for being great dancers. They shared many happy years together until his death in 2006.

Virginia was known for her beautiful green eyes (ojos verdes brillantes y hermosos) and youthful beauty. She was a devoted mother who raised 10 children, and was a fun-loving Grandma. She was a great cook and found enjoyment being with her family. She loved unconditionally.

She was a member of St. Joseph''s Catholic Church.

Surviving are her children, Patsy (Mike) Rose, West Haven, UT; Roxsan (Russell) Nebeker, Toby Gallegos, Louise (Joseph) Henderson, and Sarah Linda Gallegos, all of Ogden, UT; George (Elaine) Gallegos, Salt Lake City, UT; Christine Gallegos, Brattleboro, VT; and the proud grandmother of 32 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, nine great-great-grandchildren, and many special nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, spouses, three brothers, and three sons, Roger W. Gallegos, Fred C. Gallegos and Danny O. Gallegos.

Virginia''s loving spirit will be missed by many family and friends. She made the world special just by being in it and leaves behind many memories of those who loved her.

Funeral Mass, in loving memory to celebrate Virginia''s life, will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph''s Catholic Church, 514 a€" 24th Street.

Family and friends may call at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. where Holy Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m.

Interment, Lindquist''s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road.

The Gallegos Family would like to extend their gratitude to Wasatch Care facility and IHC Hospice for the loving care they gave our mother. We also would like to say thank you and acknowledge the words of comfort, cards, prayers, food, flowers and other expressions of love and sympathy shown to us before, during and after the loss of our Mother. God Bless You!
