Virginia M. Rounkles
OGDEN a" Virginia May Rounkles, 84, died Sunday, December 16, 2007 in Ogden of causes incident to age.
She was born January 11, 1923 in Ogden, a daughter of Sias William and Mayme Gregg Parsons.
Virginia married Wendell D. Rounkles on April 29, 1945 in Bremerton, Washington. Their vows were later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Wendell preceded her in death on October 7, 2006.
She was raised and educated in Ogden graduating from Ogden High School.
Virginia was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served in the Relief Society. She also served as President of the Union Pacific Railroad Ladies'' Auxiliary.
She enjoyed golfing and bowling. Virginia loved knitting and crocheting afghans and sweaters for her family. She was an avid oil painter and won many Blue Ribbons at County Fairs.
Surviving are five sons, Dee (Ellen), Larry (Sue), Keith (Belinda), Kent (Jeannette), and Dale (Celeste), 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Also surviving is her brother, Gary Parsons.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Gregg Rounkles, and brother, Bill Parsons, and one great-grandchild, Samuel Dean May.
The family would like to thank Virginia''s many friends and caregivers from Harrison Regent Retirement Residence, Emeritus Estates, and Legacy Health Care. In the spirit of giving, the family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the charity of your choice.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
Friends may call at the mortuary on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.
Interment, Ogden City Cemetery.
