Vivian Jones Hoopes Buck

Vivian returned to her Father in Heaven May 25, 2013 after complications from a hemorrhagic stroke. She was born in Naf, Utah in Box Elder County on September 6, 1932 to Pearl Campbell and Lewis E. Jones. She grew up in Clear Creek on a dry farm/cattle ranch, being schooled in a one room schoolhouse.

Vivian loved dancing, gardening, traveling and ceramics. She was a great seamstress and a perfectionist at everything she did. She worked hard all her life; many times holding down two jobs and raising her family. For many years she was known as "The Paper Lady" in Washington Terrace as she supervised the news carriers in that city. She worked many other jobs including The Bon Marche, Smiths, and eventually retiring from H.A.F.B. in accounting.

On August 25, 1949 she married Richard F. Hoopes and had three children, later divorcing. In 2004 she married Langston Buck,who is the love of her life. The two of them spent time traveling, gardening, and enjoying her last years together. She is survived by her husband and her children Paulene Coleman, Connie (Steve) Kaufman, and Troy (Margaret) Hoopes, six grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. Many thanks to Dalva, Jan, Teri, and Erica, her loving caregivers who made it possible to stay in her own home until the end. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 30, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may meet with family on Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Thursday from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m. at the mortuary.

Interment, Lindquist''s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
