Vivian “Mimi” Louise Hamm Nesossis

Our sweet “Mimi” was called home by our Heavenly Father on April 15, 2015 at the age of 92.

Mimi was born on December 4, 1922 in Central City, Kentucky to John and Agnes Hamm. She grew up in the small town of Paradise, Kentucky where she spent many happy years with her siblings and friends.

She married the love of her life Charles N. Nesossis “Coco.” They spent more than 60 happy years together. He preceded her in death on September 14, 2004. They had two children, Brenda and Geoffrey and lived all over Europe and the United States eventually settling in Layton, Utah.

Mimi loved to cook and was famous for her pies and southern dishes. She loved dancing, camping, and traveling. She enjoyed shopping with her girls and going to Red Hat luncheons with her friends. She is lovingly known for her talent in storytelling and singing songs like “Little Buckaroo” to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

For over 20 years she served as a volunteer nurse at the Hill Air Force Base Hospital in the OB GYN department. She was a friend to all and brought many smiles to the people around her.

Mimi is survived by her son Geoffrey (Biji), 5 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and 1great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles, daughter Brenda and son-in-law Larry Montgomery. Mimi’s extended family includes 3 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

Friends may visit family on Wednesday, April 22, 2015 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road Layton, Utah, followed by a Memorial Celebration of her life at 7 p.m.

The family would like to thank Mountain Ridge Assisted Living and Encompass Hospice for the love and care they showed Mimi.

“Now it’s time that you were roundin’ up,

A dream or two.

So go to sleep, Mimi,

Our little Buckaroo.”
