Voni Sorensen Arciaga DeVries, 64, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, October 13, 2016.

She was born June 30, 1952 in Santa Monica, California the daughter of Charles Sorensen and Geraldine (Jeri) Conolly. She was also blessed with a special Dad, Jack Conolly.

She married Jimmy Arciaga on August 15, 1970. They later divorced. She then married Dean DeVries on April 17, 1994.

She graduated from Weber High School, Class of 1970. She then graduated from Painter’s College of Beauty and worked as a hair dresser for many years. Later on, she became an Esthetician and owned Fabulous Faces, where she loved making everyone feel beautiful.

Voni loved to travel and shop, but above all else, she loved her family. She had the “perfect” son and to say that she adored her grandchildren was an understatement. They were truly her world!

Voni was best known for the way she spoke her mind without restraint and her generosity to her family. She loved to give gifts and always wrote a novel about how much she loved you in every card she sent. She looked forward to family get togethers and was always the life of the party.

Voni is survived by her only son, James (Jen) Arciaga, grandchildren, Garrett Chatelain, Kaylee Chatelain (Nathan) Gift, McKenna, Brynlee and Easton Arciaga, mother, Geraldine (Jeri) Conolly, and father, Charles (Jan) Sorensen. She is also survived by her brothers and sister, Craig (Deb) Sorensen, Ted Sorensen, Kevin (Karen) Sorensen, Frosty Sorensen and Karen Gerhardt, and also her long-time love, Dean DeVries. She was preceded in death by her Dad, Jack Conolly and her Grammy, LaVon Bradshaw.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at Lindquist’s North Ogden Mortuary, 2140 North Washington Blvd. The family will meet with friends Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary.

Interment, Ben Lomond Cemetery.
