W. Bart Johnson W. Bart Johnson, 76, of Clinton, passed away Thursday, September 10, 2009 at the Rocky Mountain Care Center in Layton following a short illness. Bart was born May 27, 1933 to Winona LaBelle Larson and Ray Johnson in Richmond, Utah. He married Sandra Baer on June 25, 1952 in the Logan Temple. They were married for 57 years. Bart played for Utah State University basketball from 1951-55. After graduating from Utah State, he went into the Marine Corps for two years and played basketball for them. He taught and coached basketball and football at the Uinta High School in Vernal, Utah. He moved to Sunset in 1962 and taught and coached at Central Davis Jr. High in Layton, Utah, retiring after more than 38 years. He refereed and umpired many high school football, basketball and baseball games. He moved to Clinton in 2004. Bart loved getting the family together and especially on Christmas Eve. He loved Christmas and all the decorations. It was his favorite time of the year and Christmas won’t be the same without him. Bart was a member of the LDS Church and held many positions. He had a strong testimony and loved the Lord. Bart is survived by his wife Sandra Johnson of Clinton, daughter Barbara (Kim) Christensen of Richmond, UT, son Alan (Julie) Johnson of Layton, son Brian Johnson of Syracuse, and daughter Jill (Mike) Hale of Vacaville, CA; 15 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Also survived by brothers Robert Johnson, Idaho Falls, ID and Dell Johnson of Roy, UT. Preceded in death by his brother Ray Johnson and twin grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 15, 2009 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 N. Fairfield Road. Friends and family may gather Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Richmond City Cemetery, Richmond, UT at 3 p.m.
