Waldene Bodily McDermott, 95, our much loved mother, grandmother, aunt and friend passed away peacefully, Wednesday, November 22, 2017, due to cause’s incident to age.

Waldene was born January 13, 1922 in Fairview, Idaho. She was the sixth of 11 children born to George Clarence and Florence Lois Orchard Bodily.

On July 3, 1940, Waldene married Floyd F. McDermott in the Logan LDS Temple. Together they had eight children that they dearly love.

She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held several positions including Primary President and Relief Society President. She loved her family, working on quilts, sewing, crocheting, flowers and baking her famous snicker doodle cookies for her children and grandchildren.

Waldene is survived by her children, Carol Pears, Georgia Montgomery, Blaine and Janice McDermott, Roger and Joanne McDermott, Julie and Steve Burk, Lee and Cathy McDermott and Jane and Wayne McEntire. She has 42 grandchildren, 120 great-grandchildren and 14 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, ten siblings, her husband Floyd, their infant daughter Marie, two grandchildren Ryan and Spring, and two sons-in-law Jan Montgomery and Alfred Pears.

Thanks to all her family, friends and others who helped with her care.

A viewing for family and friends will be held on Thursday, November 30, 2017 from 6 to 8 p.m. at at Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South. Also on Friday, December 1, 2017 from 9:30 to10:30 a.m. prior to the funeral at the West Point 19th Ward Chapel, 855 North 4000 West. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m.

Interment, Clifton Idaho Cemetery.
