“Together Again”

Walt passed away on August 2, 2014 at Ogden Regional Hospital from heart complications.  He was born on October 28, 1935 to Walter Wm Baker, Sr. and Nina S. Jones.  After graduation from Ogden High School in 1953, Walter joined the Army and was part of the military police.  After his service in the Army he married Ila Marie Hiles from Springfield, Ohio.  Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple.  During this union, they had six children, Teina (Mark) Bigwood, Kerry Baker, Kelly Baker, Michelle (Rick) Christensen, Troy (Barbara) Baker, and Melissa (Marc) Cottle.  After the death of his first wife, he married his second wife, LeAnne.  They have 22 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.

Walt was very active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.   He held many positions.  His favorite was serving in Boy Scouts of America and working in the Special Needs Mutual.

He owned several businesses one being Video Station.  He worked for Hercules Incorporated for 29 years.  He was in the military and retired from the Air Force.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, August 9, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the Washington Terrace 8 th Ward, 350 West 5100 South.  Friends may visit with family on Saturday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the church. Services entrusted to Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary.

Interment, Ogden City Cemetery.
