Walter Dean Brown (Braun), passed away on September 14, 2017 at the Pioneer Care Center in Brigham City, Utah. He was born on July 2, 1933 in Morristown, SD, the son of Henry and Katherine Dieterich Brown (Braun).  He graduated from Lemmon High School in Lemmon, SD, in 1951.

He served in the US Army from 1953 to 1955 during the Korean War Conflict.

Walter married Arlene Faye Cline in St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Wibaux, Montana, on October 29, 1960. They had three children, Allen Brown, Ogden; Tim Braun, CA; and Cindy Mangan (Patrick – deceased), Madera, CA.

He was a charter member of St. James the Just Catholic Church in Ogden, UT.

Walter worked as a painter for 40 years, retiring from the Building and Grounds Department at Weber State in 1995, after working for several local painting contractors.

He coached the North Ogden 4th Ward Little League Baseball Team for five years.

Walter is survived by his wife, Arlene; sons, Allen and Tim; daughter, Cindy; sister, Beverline Steiner, Boise, ID; six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews in CA, ID, OR, and WA.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 9, 2017 at 11 a.m. at St. James the Just Catholic Church, 495 Harrison Blvd., Ogden, UT 84404. Interment will be held on Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at 1 p.m. at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Bluffdale. Services entrusted to Lindquist's Ogden Mortuary.
