Walter M. Grissom, Jr. peacefully passed away on July 7, 2015 with his family by his side.

He was born on June 17, 1935 in Warren Plains, North Carolina to Walter and Helen Grissom, Sr. He married his wife Joan Mangold, on May 27, 1961 in Ryan, Iowa.

He is survived by his four children: Walter and his wife Gina, Michelle, Roxane Keenan and her husband Darren, Glen and his wife Shawna; his four grandchildren: Melody, Madison, Luke, and Coplin; and his brother, Mike Grissom, and his wife Gail.

Walter retired from the U.S. Air Force after 26 years of service and was a long-time member of Saint Mary’s Catholic Church in West Haven, Utah.

Friends can meet the family at a visitation on Sunday, July 12, from 6-8pm (with Rosary services at 7:30 pm) at the Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South. A memorial Mass will be held on Monday, July 13, at 10am at Saint Mary’s Catholic Church, 4050 South 3900 West, West Haven, luncheon to follow.

His internment will follow the luncheon at 3pm at Lindquist’s Memorial Park at Layton, 1867 N. Fairfield Road.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you send donations to your favorite charity in Walt’s name.
