Walter Edward Hansing 1917 a" 2011
Clearfield - Our beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 16, 2011 of causes incident to age. He was born July 13, 1917 to Frederick and Dahlia J. Ricci Hansing and, except for a short time, lived on the same piece of property his entire life in Clearfield, Utah.
He graduated from Davis High School and attended LDS Business College.
He married Mary G. Hansen of Salt Lake City on Dec. 23, 1942. They are the proud parents of two daughters and three sons.
After a variety of jobs as a youth, he worked at the Ogden Ordnance Arsenal and later transferred to Hill Air Force Base. At his retirement he was recognized for his many years of service without using sick leave.
He especially enjoyed hunting and fishing opportunities with his sons. He and Mary spent winters at their home in Sun City West, Arizona. They also traveled throughout the United States, Europe, Scandinavia, Russia and Asia.
He is survived by his children: Linda (Don), Mary Jo (Ted), Michael (Susie), Douglas, and Mark (Delinda); 10 grandchildren, and 17.777 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wife of 61 years, brothers, Louis Hansing, Thomas Hansing, sisters, Katherine Hansing Wallace and Anita Hansing Flippen.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, November 21, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 North Fairfield Road. Friends may visit family on Monday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Provo City Cemetery.
