Walter E Youse

Walt Youse, an exceptional man who made lasting friendships with everyone he met, has passed from this life on Sunday, July 10, 2011.

Walt was born in 1925 and raised in Sedalia, Missouri where he attended and graduated from Green Ridge High School. Soon after high school he became a U.S. Marine and fought in the Pacific Theatre during World War II. His Marine 1st Division was presented twice with the Presidential Unit Citation (for Peleliu and Okinawa).

Upon returning home from the war, he met the love of his life and spent the next 55 years with his devoted wife, Lee Youse.

Walt enjoyed trout fishing and could out-fish anyone within five feet of wherever he cast his line. The past three years he enjoyed participating in activities with his friends at the Senior Center in Mansfield, TX. However, his greatest joy in life was spent being with his family. He was the consummate husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He could never do too much for any family member.

Walt joined the workforce as a store manager for F.W. Woolworth for a number of years before becoming a salesman for Sears Roebuck until he retired. After retirement from Sears, he worked at Dillard''s part time.

He is survived by his son, Dan W. Youse and daughter-in-law, Susan Youse of Mansfield, Texas; son-in-law, Mark DeCaria (Meri); four grandchildren, Justin Youse, Jessica McAlister (Sean) and Stefanie and Angie DeCaria; great-grandchild, Kaitlynn Youse; sisters-in-law, Lu Larson and Barbara Martin; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lee Youse, his parents, Johnnie and Sallie Youse; brother, John Youse; sister, Verna Marie Youse; daughter, Tracy DeCaria; and grandson, Alexander DeCaria.

Funeral services will be Saturday, July 16 at 11:00 a.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.

Friends may visit family on Saturday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary.
