Wanda Barlow Barton

March 20, 1926 ~ June 23, 2017

Wanda Barlow Barton, 91, passed away on June 23, 2017 at home of natural causes incident to age. She was born on March 20, 1926 in Ogden to Jesse D. and Alfrida Knudsen Barlow. She grew up in Clearfield. She spent her youth on a farm there. Wanda graduated from Davis High and Utah State University. While in college she was very involved in the Chi Omega Sorority, she enjoyed this time of her life.

On October 17, 1953, Wanda married Dale J. Barton in Elko, Nevada. They were married for 59 years before Dale’s passing in 2012.

Wanda taught elementary school during her life, as well as being a homemaker and mom. She enjoyed bowling, golfing, and playing bridge for years. Wanda and Dale enjoyed traveling together.

She and her family enjoyed many good times at their cabin. Wanda enjoyed reading, doing puzzles, especially Sudoku and watching good TV programs. She also enjoyed her weekly hair appointments. The family lived in Sunset then Dale and Wanda moved to South Ogden.

Wanda is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Wanda is survived by her children, Chris (Christine) Peterson, Kenneth B. (Gayla) Barton, and Susan D. Barton. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Elizabeth Barton, Dale C. (Brianna) Barton, Krista (Julius) Airam, and Brett (Amy) Richins; five great-grandchildren and counting; and brother, Haven J. Barlow. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brother, David Barlow.

The family thanks all of Wanda’s wonderful friends and neighbors, especially KayLynne and Lars Yorgensen for their compassionate service.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
