Wanda Elsie Blackner
Wanda Elsie Blackner, loving Mother and Grandmother passed away June 9th, 2010. She was surrounded at home by her loved ones.
Wanda was born December 14, 1919 in Hudson, Wyo. to Ralph and Elsie Harvey.
She married W. Ray Blackner September 04, 1937 in Evanston, Wyo. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple, December 15, 1943. They had 5 children, 16 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren and 6 great, great grandchildren. Her husband Ray passed away June 4th 2005.
Wanda was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Central Ward and served faithfully in various callings. Wanda loved to camp and enjoy the outdoors. She loved reading, gardening, scrapbooking but most of all she loved spoiling her grandchildren.
Wanda is survived by her children; Eloise Blackner Weaver (David Weaver Deceased), Tyler Blackner (Kathy) and Colin Blackner (Christie) as well as her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Ray Blackner; her parents; 3 brothers; 1 sister; Twin Sons, Byron and Blaine Blackner; son in law David C Weaver and her little dog Cubby.
Our family would like to extend sincere appreciation to the many loving hands that provided care for her from Thatcher Brook Hospice and Country Care Assisted Living for their special attention and care.
Funeral services will be held Monday, June 14, 2010 at 11:30 a.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road. Friends may visit family Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday from 9:45 to 11:15 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Lindquist''s Memorial Park at Layton, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.
