Wanda Pearce Burrell
September 27, 1924 ~ August 11, 2022
On Thursday, August 11, 2022, encircled by her family, Wanda Pearce Burrell of Washington Terrace, Utah finally got her wish as she was able to be reunited with those who she loved so much on the other side of the veil.
She was born to George Howells and Emily Roberts Pearce on September 27, 1924, in Paradise, Utah. Mom always said that they did not have much as far as material things, but she knew she was loved. She was voted Queen of the Gold and Green Ball in Paradise and attended South Cache High School where she met her future husband, Owen Burrell, they were later divorced. They had six wonderful children, who she adored and was so proud of.
Wanda was a lifelong resident of Washington Terrace and loved the community. She was active with the Lady Lions Club and served as PTA President of Washington Terrace Elementary. She was very involved in the Daughters of Utah Pioneers and loved watching Jazz games where Joe Ingles was her favorite player.
She had a great life and was very influential in the lives of many people. She started working for JC Penny as a seasonal employee for Christmas which turned into 25 plus years of dedicated service. She worked in the boy’s department and loved helping all with their boy scout needs.
When she retired, she served in the Ogden Temple for 10 years and thoroughly enjoyed serving her Heavenly Father.
Wanda had a very strong testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and loved serving. She particularly loved the senior single sisters and brothers, who she would motherly take care of as she would drive them to church or organize family home evenings.
She loved traveling and really enjoyed her trips to Israel, Egypt, and Branson, Missouri. Whether at church, work or normal life, all she met quickly became her friend and called her blessed because of the love she had for them.
Wanda is survived by her four sons, Bruce, Lonnie, Kevin (Teresa), and Blake (Debra) and daughter, Tammy (Bob). She is also preceded in death by her parents, sister Mattie Stauffer and brothers George, Ralph and Dewey Pearce. She was blessed with a wonderful posterity of 25 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren and 11-great-great-grandchildren.
We are sure that she was happy to be reunited with oldest child, Georgian (Dennis) who preceded her in death just 48 days ago.
The family is so grateful for the efforts of Enhabit Hospice and especially the love and care given to our mother by Jen Davies, Angie Favaro, Autumn Hill, and Ryan Petersen.
