In 1942 she married the love of her life, John A. Gaz, they were later sealed in the Ogden temple. While raising her children she pursued her teaching career in the Ogden city schools teaching second through fourth grades and later as a media specialist. She was an active, lifelong teacher for over 30 years, touching many lives and providing and eternal influence that can never be erased.
She was a faithful and active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in many callings in Relief Society, MIA, Compassionate Services and never remembers being without a church job. She enjoyed membership in the Aglaia Club, Book Club, Daughters of the Utah Pioneers, and the Weber County Legislative Council.
She enjoyed swimming, playing the piano, traveling, spending time with her family, and just being alive and active. She was able to travel to France, Germany, England, Italy, China and the Middle East.
Wanda is survived by her two sons, John E. Gaz and Randall D. Gaz, seven grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, two sisters and her husband.
Saying goodbye to a loved individual is never easy, but Wanda was so vibrant and vivid that she will remain in our hearts and minds for our lifetime. We deeply mourn her loss, but we are grateful that her spirit is finally free.
Wanda’s family wishes to thank all of these who loved and cared for her at the Legacy House Assisted Living Center who were so patient, serving and kind. A special thanks is also provided to the tender care provided by those at Inspiration Home Health and Hospice.
