Wanda P. Willardsen Jenkins

100 Years – minus 6 weeks

August 7, 1915 ~ June 21, 2015

Nana, as we all affectionately called her, was the second of ten children born in Franklin, Idaho, to Carl Elmo and Lenna Peterson.  She married Oris E. Jenkins in 1935 and they were sealed in the Logan LDS Temple.  They lived in Preston, Idaho, until 1968 when they moved to Ogden, Utah, where her husband died in 1989; she later married Woodruff Willardsen and lived in Salt Lake City for eleven years until he died and she moved back to Ogden.

She retired from IRS after 17 years where she was sometimes called upon to use her expertise as a certified hand-writing analyst in her work.  She had many talents and enjoyed music, playing the piano, stencil painting, sewing, beadwork, crafts, and was an avid reader until her eyesight failed.  She lived at Harrison Regent Retirement Center for seven years and the last five years with her daughters.

As an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she has been President of the Primary, Young Women, and Relief Society, and involved in YW music and drama as well as other callings.  She was also an Ogden Utah LDS Temple worker.  She had a great desire to serve others.

She had four children, James O. Jenkins, deceased; Geraldine “Jerry” (Terry deceased) Paskins, Ogden, UT; Marilyn (Jimmie) Hill, Pleasant View, UT; Bob (Hilda) Jenkins, Farr West, UT; 18 grandchildren; 65 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren whom she enjoyed very much.  She has one surviving sister, Carol Pitkins, Kenniwick, WA, and four stepchildren, Richard Willardsen (deceased), Spencer Willardsen, Randy Willardsen, and Linda Beck.

Thanks to Community Nursing Services – Andrea, Jessica, Ashley, and Sam who were so good to her.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 25, 2015 at 11 a.m. at the Burch Creek 3 rd Ward, 5161 South 1300 East, South Ogden.  Friends meet family from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.  Interment, Fairview Idaho Cemetery.  Services entrusted to Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary.
