Wanda Mower

Wanda S. Mower, 89, passed away on March 21, 2013 after a short illness. She was born on January 19, 1924 in Wilson, Utah to John and Katherine Bouwhuis Sharp. She grew up in the Roy area and graduated from Weber High School. She married Horace Mower in 1947. They later divorced.

She worked in retail sales at Smith''s Bakery in Roy and ZCMI in Ogden. She retired from the Procurement Office at Hill Air Force Base. After retirement she was a volunteer in the Women''s and Children''s gift shop at the Ogden Regional Medical Center.

Wanda enjoyed oil painting, ceramics, and flower gardening throughout her life as well as needlework projects for her home. She liked spending time with family camping and water skiing on Pineview Dam as well as gathering with her siblings at her parents'' house each Sunday for dinner.

Wanda is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Bruce and JoAnn Mower of Florence, Oregon; brother, Joe Sharp of Gilbert, Arizona; nephew Kelly Sharp of Westington, South Dakota; niece, Jackie Kidd of Bountiful, Utah; four grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Jack Sharp; sisters, Marian Hardy and Jennie Ingham; and a son, Monte Mower.

Wanda was especially grateful for the service she received each week from her two senior companions, Bobbie and Jean, giving her added independence in her life for the last nine years.

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Lindquist''s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd. Family will meet with friends on Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 10:00 to 10:30 a.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
