Wanda Bailey Reid
WASHINGTON TERRACE – Wanda Fern Williams Bailey Reid, our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, finished her earthly probation on Wednesday, October 15, 2008.
She was born June 12, 1926 to Pearl Ada Bramwell and George Williams in Harrisville, Utah. She was reared in South Weber, Utah and graduated from Davis High School.
She married Leland Bailey on June 14, 1947 in Ogden, Utah. They were later divorced. She married Harl Reid October 13, 1987. He later died. She later married Max Kosof. He died in 1998.
Throughout her life she worked for many branches of the U.S. Government including the Navy, Air Force, I.R.S., and Forest Service.
She was active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints holding positions in Young Women’s as Sports Director, a Visiting Teacher and Sunday School Teacher.
She loved candy making, and made, by far, the best peanut brittle, fudge and penuche. She loved going to the temple and the senior center. She was an outgoing, fun-loving lady who adored her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed watching her family participate in sports, especially baseball. She was a vocal spectator. Wanda was a wonderful cook and was always willing to give a helping hand to others. She will be greatly missed.
Surviving are one son and four daughters, Gary (Debbi) Bailey, Washington Terrace; Wanda Denhalter, Kaysville; Susan McMillan, Washington Terrace; Eva Jean (Stewart) Bridge, Bountiful; and Julie (Kris) Jugler, Washington Terrace. She has 21 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, a sister, Iva Larson, Roy; and two brothers, Lyle Williams, Tacoma, WA; Woodrow Williams, Burley, ID.
She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, three sisters and two husbands.
Funeral services will be held Friday, October 24 at 11 a.m. at the Washington Terrace 5th Ward Chapel, 350 West 5100 South, with Bishop Wayne Funk officiating.
Friends may call at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday at the Ward Chapel 10 to 10:45 a.m.
Interment, Lindquist’s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road.
