Ward Spencer Mace Sr.
KAYSVILLE – Ward Spencer Mace Sr., 92, passed away Thursday, January 2, 2014 at his home.
He was born December 23, 1921 in Kanab, Utah the son of Wandle and Nabbie Spencer Mace.
Ward married Barbara Jean Bowman on December 24, 1946 in Mesa, Arizona. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Mesa LDS Temple.
He served in the Army during WWII in both the European and Pacific Campaigns.
Ward was an active member of the LDS Church and served in the Young Mens Presidency, a Stake Missionary, Temple Worker in the Mesa Arizona, Ogden and Bountiful Temple, Home Teacher and a High Priest.
He loved saddle making, leather work and hunting.
Surviving are his wife Barbara Jean Bowman Mace, Kaysville; sons, Ward Jr. (LuAnne), Ketchikan, Alaska; Dev (Colleen), Apache Junction, Arizona; daughters, Elva Carpenter, Kaysville; Catherine Mace, Kaysville; Wilma Mace, Roy; eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Elva, Wilma, Leola, Nabbie, Harriet, Emily, Illene, Arretta and Betty.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the Kaysville Rock Chapel, 200 E. Center Street. Friends may visit family Tuesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery.
Services entrusted to Lindquist’s Kaysville Mortuary, 400 North Main.
In lieu of flowers family suggests donations be made to the LDS Church Perpetual Education, Missionary or Humanitarian Funds.
