Ward Larry Sevy

Ward Larry Sevy, 84, wonderful husband and loving father and grandfather, passed away on Sunday, March 9, 2014 at the George E. Wahlen Ogden Veterans Home.
He was born August 27, 1929 in Cedar City, Utah to Ward C. and Mamie Black Sevy. Larry lived in Southern Utah until high school when his family moved to Ogden.
He joined the United States Marine Corps after graduation from Ogden High School. He was very proud of serving his country, “Once a Marine always a Marine!”
Larry married the love of his life, Carole Jessie Davis on June 16, 1950. He retired from Hill Air Force Base in 1985 and then the fun began, when he and Carole moved to Las Vegas, Nevada enjoying the casinos and meeting new people.
Larry was an avid fisherman and would tell anyone; a bad day fishing is better than any day working.
He was a lifetime member of the Elks Lodge, Disabled American Veterans and Marine Corps League.
Larry will be truly missed by his loving wife, Carole, two daughters, Christine Alder (Alan), Jackie Sevy and one son, Scott Sevy (Laurie), grandchildren, Tomarah Farnsworth (Ron), James Sevy, Amanda Charlesworth (Jess), Casey Combe (Taunya), Kimberly Combe, Daniel Combe (Shannon), great-grandchildren, Tyler and Justin Moore, Porter and Cash Charlesworth, Brayden, Bridger, Jaycee and Adilyn Combe, Abigail Voigt, Lilliana and Arabella Combe. Larry is also survived by his brother, VM Sevy (Flora). He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Ray Sevy and sister Marjorie Anne Bertelsholfer.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday, March 12th at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road. Friends may visit with family on Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South.
The family would like to thank the staff at George E. Wahlen Veterans Home for their loving care of Ward.
