Wayne Dale Campbell 1947 ~ 2009
MARRIOTT-SLATERVILLE a" Wayne D. Campbell, our gentle giant, husband, father, grandfather and brother, was suddenly called home to be with his Heavenly Father on Friday, March 6, 2009.
Wayne was born October 29, 1947 in Ogden, to Roy H. and Freda E. Campbell. He was raised and educated in Ogden graduating from Weber High School and LDS Seminary.
On April 25, 1970, Wayne married his best friend, June Perkins, at his parent''s home.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was baptized 52 times for the dead.
Wayne worked for and retired from the Union Pacific Railroad. He enjoyed his work there and made many friends and served as Vice President of the Union Pacific Old Timers.
He served his country with the Army National Guard.
Wayne had an opportunity to touch many lives. He always thought it was better to give than receive. He was respected and loved by many. Wayne believed in a strong sense of family, and his family was truly his life. He enjoyed woodworking, working on cars, hunting, and collecting "treasures".
Wayne is survived by his wife June, his children, Tami (Scott) Bowen and Tony (Bonnie) Campbell; his grandchildren, Codie, Ty, Brock and Chase; his brothers and sisters, Larry (Jean) Campbell, Judy Owens, Carma Mangel, Lois (Scott) Durrant, Scott Campbell, Marlene (Kent) Wright, Dawna (Ray) DeHart, Janice (Roger) Redmond, Mike (Cindy) Campbell, Christy (Keith) Redfearn, Bruce Campbell, and 170 nieces and nephews.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Reed, brothers-in-law, Merlin Owens and Mike Mangel, and his uncle, Ross Campbell.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the American Heart Association.
As Wayne always said, "If I can''t do it, it can''t be done".
