Wayne Collard

LAYTON – Wayne Allen Collard, 60, passed away November 9, 2016 at his home.

He was born July 12, 1956 the son of Leo Bruce and Marjorie Wilkinson Collard in Salt Lake
City, Utah.

Wayne spent over a decade at Sign-Tech as a graphic artist alongside his friend and “brother” Brian Smoot.  He loved working with and for people. He was a friend to everyone he met.  He was full of love and compassion.

He enjoyed drum circles and a good pow-wow with like minded friends.  He was very spiritual. Wayne studied alternative healing, using minerals, oils, sage and was always expressing his metaphysical energy.  He was a giver, constantly volunteering to fix anything for anyone.  He was very creative and enjoyed sharing his knowledge to anyone that would listen.

Surviving are his son, Eric Collard, daughters, Jennifer Alton, Brandy (Jason) Caton, Dana Collard, six grandchildren, his parents, Leo and Marjorie Collard and Gary Christensen, siblings, Larry Collard, Marilyn Martin and Rebecca Hamblin.

Preceded in death by his brother, Ken Christensen and sister, Bonnie Bassett.

Memorial services will be held Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.  Friends may visit family one hour prior to services at the mortuary.

In lieu of flowers, the family has created a memorial fund under his name at Wells Fargo Bank.
